Schuil Coffee Co. was founded in 1981 when Garry Schuil brought high-quality specialty coffees to America. He was the first to do so in Michigan. In the forty years since our founding, Schuil Coffee Co. has continued to grow as a business while maintaining our founder’s commitment to high quality. This is reflected in our fine coffee selection, friendly customer service, and most recently... our new store!
When renovations began, we saw expansion as an opportunity to improve both customer and employee experience. As coffee shops have become places for both work and relaxation, we designed the new shop in a way that would cater to all types of customers. To support this idea, we constructed a large group area more conducive to focused work, separate from the main storefront. Both spaces will feature our beautifully redone store area, complete with new lighting and decorations. Outdoor seating with tables, pergola, and beautiful landscaping is also now available. In addition to changes to the building itself, we’ve expanded our selection of baked goods and coffee equipment for purchase so customers can attain shop-quality coffee in the comfort of their own home.
Renovation means exciting news for our Schuil team as well! The new building has an office space for 8-12 employees, a revamped conference room and break room, and an entryway to facilitate the passage of wholesale orders. Finally, our new cupping lab was built to heighten the tasting and testing experience and to make it more accessible to our customers. We look forward to hosting cupping events here soon.
The project should be completed later this month. We can’t wait for customers to visit and experience, in a new way, the Schuil they know and love.

Just opened my 4pack this morning and had to start with the raspberry chocolate. It’s my absolutely favorite. I want to thank you so much for being so customer oriented and kind over the phone. I had inadvertently ordered course grind instead of drip. I realize this the next day. I was able to talk to a kind gentleman who corrected my order. And I got everything within four days. Amazing!
I live alone so by four pack order will last me a while, but you can be sure I will order again. You may consider me a regular customer now! May God continue to bless you and your family and the company!🙏🏽❣️
I discovered your coffee while on vacation in the U. P. in July ‘20, when a church with a cafe in front was selling both the coffee and the beans. It was Michigan Sweet Cherry, the best coffee I’d ever had, and I have had subscriptions with other companies before.
We finished off the bag of whole beans within two weeks of getting home, and immediately ordered another bag and Vanilla Frangelico, which I love even more.
And that took us a month. And then you sent my daughter, an influencer, some samples, and we got to try even more flavors!
And then, Horchata. Be still, my heart.
I ordered one bag to try in the summer of ’22, and should have ordered several more. It was a seasonal flavor then. I was over the moon when it became a permanent flavor!
Two years and one church fundraiser later, and I am a customer for life. One who says “The south side of Indianapolis near University of Indianapolis has no coffee shops! Hint, hint!”

Absolutely love your coffee (Especially, Michigan Cherry)! I’m a Michigander by heart, born and raised but Tennessee is my landing place. A little gas station of all places was my introduction to your coffee, now I’m hooked! Recently, placed an order looking forward to sharing once it arrives!
I am a New York resident (western n.y) and I’ve been a coffee drinker since I was a teenager. I especially love specialty coffees. Looking forward to trying the Michigan Cherry, and the fudge coffee.
My 1st order is on its way. Thanks to my son in Decatur Mi. for our wonderful Christmas gift of Schuil Maple bean coffee. My wife and just love it. Now we want to explore all the other flavors. Can’t wait for our order to arrive to Rapid City SD.
