The vast array of brewing methods the coffee enthusiast has at their disposal can feel both liberating and daunting. Different brewers provide their own unique flavor profiles, and some are particularly well-fitted to make certain coffees shine. We’ve laid out several of our favorite brewers, why we like them, and our favorite coffees to brew with them.
A staple on the table for weekend brunches, the french press is a classic that most are familiar with. It brews an especially robust and full-bodied cup due to its filtration system. As opposed to most other brewers that use paper filters, the mesh filtration system allows for more of the oils from the coffee into the cup, which provides that rich, luscious mouthfeel.

Chemex Brewer
In contrast to the french press, Chemex brewers use especially thick filters, which prevent many of the oils from making it into the cup. This generally yields a more delicate cup of coffee with increased flavor clarity. We also love that it can make coffee for a group, depending on its size.

V60s are tried and true single cup brewers for those solo coffee mornings. They offer a sweet and balanced cup of coffee, with a flavor profile typically falling somewhere between that of a Chemex and french press. We appreciate V60s for their versatility, and relatively quick brew times.
